Florals are back in town

It's only Tuesday and I feel like I've got so much done already.  I wanted to share this look that I wore last week Sunday to the Flagz carnival launch party, minus the heels. Colour blocking has become really interesting to me as I never quite grasped the technique at first. However I feel it's all about breaking it down with patterns, In order for this technique to work. The contrast of red handbag and shoes works extreme well with the floral kimono from Zara. Nevertheless I do follow a few basic rules to accomplish this technique.

Rule 1- Don't go overboard

Since the kimono is the main focus within this look, it's automatically becomes a statement piece. It immediately stands out therefore you don't want to mix any other patterns, otherwise the outfit would look over powering.

Rule 2- Stick to one colour

It's Important to choose one colour when colour blocking. I decided to choose red to colour block since the kimono only had a hint of red. The Givenchy handbag and Kurt Geiger shoes allowed meet to achieve the effect I was going for.
